DAY 24: How to Seek and Find

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/27/202010/25/20205Min Read

Scripture: Luke 11:9,10 Key Verse: “seek, and you will find . . . and he who seeks finds” Luke 11:9; 10 Spiritual B3 What if I told you that your seeking is also an act of resistance! Today is the day to activate your resistance through seeking what you are asking for in prayer.  We typically think …

DAY 23: How to Ask and Receive

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/23/202010/23/20205Min Read

Documentation beats conversation every day of the week. How can you claim to really be asking for something that you want to receive, if you have not put it on paper? How can you measure your progress if you don’t have a starting line? How can you build your belief without a record of what God has already done?

DAY 22: How to Develop Persistence

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/22/202010/22/20204Min Read

Persistence is what makes the difference. Some of the best and worse situations of your life were because of persistence. You persistently got it right or your persistently got it wrong, but your outcome was the result of your persistence.

DAY 20: Forgiveness of Ourselves and Others

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/20/202010/20/20205Min Read

Forgiveness is a cross we all must bear. But Jesus tells us, this is a cross we must bear, because it is the prerequisite for our heavenly Father forgiving us our trespasses. If we are honest about it, we all need to be forgiven of something, so we must learn how to forgive others that we may be forgiven through prayer.

On the cross, Jesus utters these profound words, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Day 19: The Kingdom of God

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/22/202010/19/20205Min Read

Did you know that you are a part of the Kingdom of God and endowed with all the rights, privileges, and spiritual authority granted to every citizen of the Kingdom? One of the most difficult parts of my journey was having to take a medical leave from law school due to the neurological aftereffects of COVID-19 compounded with some the other challenges in my life at the time. I felt like a failure, but heard God clearly say I needed to let my mind heal and rest or I would have lasting impacts. My once agile mind that allowed me to get massive amounts of work done in a short period of time just wasn’t there anymore. In order to heal I had to focus on one thing, the Kingdom of God. It was like my mind stopped fully working, unless I was speaking or doing things for God.

DAY 18: Adoration and Worship

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/18/202010/18/20205Min Read

At six years old my father was sentenced to over ten years in prison. Although I was young, I will never forget a few significant memories that are forever etched in my mind. I remember the day my grandfather pulled up to our house in Kansas City, it was raining lightly with heavy overcast. I watched him tell my mother as she broke down in tears. I didn’t know what had just happened, but I could feel that something was wrong. I also remember a few moments alone with my father before he began to serve his sentence and him telling me that I had to be the man of the house and take care of my mother and sister. The final experience I’ll share is when it was time for the verdict, and my grandmother took me out the courtroom, but I snook away and looked through the small windowpane of that large heavy door, and as the guilty verdict came in, something forever changed in me.

DAY 17: The Model Prayer

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/17/202010/17/20203Min Read

Life has a way of hitting you with unexpected punches at times. These are the moments when you may feel spiritually dazed and discombobulated. I was there during my recovery process of and regaining my full neurological functions, but one thing that saved the day was that I had committed to memory the Model Prayer of Jesus. When I couldn’t think of anything else, I called on the name of Jesus, pleaded the blood of Jesus, and recited the Model Prayer, to pray my way through.

DAY 16: The Prayer Life of Jesus

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/16/202010/16/20204Min Read

I remember a few years ago, I flew to Chicago to celebrate with my father, Rev. Dr. Reginald E. Bachus, for his pastoral anniversary. On this occasion pastor and recording artists Marvin Sapp was the guest preacher. Before the service began, we were all sitting around and talking about preaching and singing, when suddenly Pastor Sapp broke out in this musical vocal run and he did it a few times in demonstration of what he was working on adding to his repertoire. I stood there amazed and actually felt robbed of a key insight into mastery.

DAY 15: Lord Teach Us to Pray

by Rev. Reginald L. Bachusupdated on 10/16/202010/15/20204Min Read

Do you think there is a reason that when you try to set aside time to pray; distractions, sleepiness, and a wandering mind seem to go into overdrive? It’s because the enemy knows the power of a disciplined prayer life!
