Scripture: Luke 11:20
Key Verse: “But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Spiritual B3:
Do you use your finger for heavy things or light things? Jesus is telling us that whatever we feel may have us bound and needs to be cast out of our lives is a light thing for God through prayer and belief. I have to give my father, Rev. Reginald E. Bachus, credit for pointing out this revelation to me a few months ago as we were having our regular Sunday morning call, which I value beyond words! But since then I have continued to study this passage to get a full understanding and it has blown my mind, and I hope it does the same for you!
More and more automobiles are coming equipped with a push button ignition. Think of how much power you are controlling when you push the start button in a car. If you drive a standard car, you have just ignited a 350-pound combustible bomb called an engine, which powers a 3,000-pound machine with unimaginable speed and power. This machine has the power to get you just about anywhere you want to go on land and can be a life changing force for good or be transformed into deadly weapon of force. All that power started with just one finger. How much more power do you think is in the finger of God to ignite change in your life, to drive transformation, and move you from where you are to where you want to be?
The more I learn about God the more excited I get. I believe that is one of the tactics of the enemy to take the joy and excitement out of faith and belief. When you can really wrestle with the question, “Is there anything too hard for God?” and answer NO, trust me it helps to restore the joy of your salvation because you know any victory is possible through prayer in the kingdom!
I will confess that there were some things in my life that I struggled to let go and be delivered from before the journey, but I made up my mind and told the Lord no matter how many times I failed on the journey, I’ll do my part by praying, not giving up, and getting back up every single time. I told the Lord I’ll trust you for the rest and to make up the difference. But I was determined that I will not leave this journey the same way I came into the journey so help me God! It was in the midst of studying this Word that the tables began to turn. The revelation I received was about fitness for the kingdom of God. We often question if the kingdom is a fit for us, but God began to press me about the question, “Are you fit for the Kingdom?”
In Luke 9:62 Jesus says, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” I had read this scripture many times before, but this time “fit for the kingdom” really stood out. Through a lot of prayer and meditation I saw that as believers we are qualified through our soul salvation (confession that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives) but too many of us are missing the critical link of our whole salvation, which is fitness for the Kingdom. But if we are not careful, we get locked in the cycles of unfitness because we too often want to look back, which demonstrates our unfitness for the power that with the Kingdom.
The sin of pride and vanity make us to try to conform everything to our image rather than being conformed to the image of God. Think about how many times we have tried to reconstruct and rearrange what we know to be the truth just to appease our own sinful ways. Tomorrow I’ll share more, about what God has done for us through Jesus Christ to get us fit for the kingdom by giving us the full armor of God to combat the armor in which Satan has trusted since he fell like lightening from heaven. But there is a direct relationship between Kingdom power and Kingdom fitness.
As we enter the last days of our 40 Day Journey, I pray that my story and experience of getting spiritually, mentally, and physically fit for the Kingdom of God to more fully access the full power of the Kingdom has helped you on your journey. Jesus says, when the power, presence, miracles, signs, and wonders begin to manifest, “the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Are you ready to push the ignition button?
